Emily’s practice is focused on the defence of class actions, principally in the areas of product liability, negligence, contract and consumer protection. A member of the Ontario and Quebec bars, she has expertise litigating a range of complex commercial disputes. Emily advises national and foreign clients across numerous industries, including manufacturers of medical devices, pharmaceuticals, automobiles and consumer products, as well as financial institutions.
Emily also regularly advises on a wide variety of regulatory regimes, including consumer protection compliance and product warnings.
Much of her litigation experience has been developed through large, document-intensive cases involving complex financial, technical, scientific and medical matters, often with a cross-border or multi-jurisdictional focus.
Emily is fluent in English and French.
